The Five Core Dimensions

The LQ model conceptualizes adaptive lightness across five interrelated yet psychometrically distinct dimensions:

1. Perspective Shift (Nadhľad)

Cognitive distancing and meta-awareness. The ability to step back from an immediate acute stressor, observe one's own automatic reactions through the eyes of an impartial observer, and de-escalate subjective cognitive over-identification.

Operational indicators: Decentering, time horizon expansion, reduction of catastrophic framing.

2. Benign Humor (Adaptívny humor)

Tension relief devoid of cynicism, sarcasm, or mockery. Self-compassionate, benevolent humor that breaks somatic hyperarousal and preserves psychological safety during crises.

Operational indicators: Affiliative humor, situational reinterpretation without ridicule, physiological down-regulation.

3. Inner Freedom (Vnútorná sloboda)

Sovereignty over reactive impulses. Unhooking intrinsic self-worth from external outcomes, compulsive perfectionism, and urgent environmental pressures.

Operational indicators: Differentiating control from non-control, healthy boundary assertion, reduced validation-seeking.

4. Explorative Playfulness (Hravosť)

Treating structural constraints and friction with curiosity and active experimentation. Re-framing deadlocks into iterative puzzles rather than existential dead-ends.

Operational indicators: Low fear of micro-errors, divergent prototyping, exploratory curiosity.

5. Contextual Flexibility (Flexibilita)

Behavioral and cognitive plasticity. Fluidly adjusting communication modes, leadership stances, and problem-solving strategies according to changing situational conditions.

Operational indicators: Low cognitive dogmatism, swift behavioral repertoire switching, high ambiguity tolerance.

Scientific Rigor & Falsification Criterion

In accordance with the standards of open science and psychometric rigor, the LQ model is formulated with explicit falsification conditions:

"The construct of Adaptive Lightness (LQ) will be considered redundant or rejected if psychometric validation demonstrates collinearity with established constructs (Resilience / CD-RISC, Cognitive Reappraisal / ERQ, Sense of Humor / CHS) such that confirmatory factor analysis does not support a separate latent factor, or if LQ fails to demonstrate incremental validity in predicting adaptive behavioral coping under acute stress."
